This page explains what personal data this website collects, why I collect it and what you can ask me to do with it. I collect very little, so it is short.
Who is responsible
This website is run by Maël Blanc, an independent designer based in Lyon, France. I am responsible for the personal data described on this page. You can reach me at hello@maelblanc.com.
What I collect and why
Contact form. When you write to me, I receive your name, email address, company, the service and budget range you select, and your message. I use them only to reply to your enquiry and, if we work together, to prepare the project.
Newsletter. When you subscribe, I receive your email address. I use it only to send occasional notes on projects and process. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe.
I do not sell, rent or share this data for marketing, and I do not build profiles.
Legal basis
Replying to your enquiry relies on my legitimate interest in answering the people who contact me, and on steps you ask me to take before a possible contract (Article 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(b) of the GDPR). The newsletter relies on your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
How long I keep it
Contact enquiries are kept for 24 months after our last exchange, then deleted.
Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.
Hosting
This site is built and hosted with Framer (Framer B.V., Amsterdam, the Netherlands), which also stores form submissions on my behalf as a processor. If data is transferred outside the European Union, the transfer relies on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
access the data I hold about you
have it corrected if it is wrong
have it erased
object to how I use it, or withdraw your newsletter consent
To use any of these rights, write to hello@maelblanc.com. I reply within one month. If you are not satisfied with my answer, you can file a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority, at cnil.fr.
Cookies
This site uses no advertising or tracking cookies. It only relies on what is strictly necessary for the site to work.
To see which pages are read, I use privacy-friendly analytics built into Framer. They count visits in aggregate, without identifying you or following you across other sites. That is why there is no cookie banner.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date at the top.
